Venturing out - keith tay
Gen 12:6-7, 1-4
The Call
Heb 11:1, 8
The calling of God is often a calling to the unknown
Gen 11:27-28
Josh 24:2
Heb 11:8-10
What abraham ews struggling to see, and what he hoped for is to have a family of his own and to see a land where God is the architect and builder of that place
He wants to see the kingdom of God established in that city
The calling of God is a call to see his kingdom come and his will be done in this earth
Heb 6:13-15
Gen 15:5-7
Wheb abraham doubted, gid did not judge hin but encouraged. A godly relationship is where God inspires, not one where he condemns and judges.
Abraham was faithful because when he failed, stumbled, and fell as he most certainly did, he always got back up and clung to the promises
Rom 4:20-22
Gen 12:4
Calls from God are not always what we want to hear because it often requires leaving our comfort zone - it simply means change
God's desire is that you have a personal relationship with him, and know him in such a way that you will want to obey him and in this obedience you will be a blessing
The journeys of faith are the only way thay we can moce into tue future that God has for us
What abraham had to boast about was only that he had faith in God, that he trusted God
.
The reward is in the journey itself
