Keith tay - the return emmaus
Lk 24:13-35
Jesus reveals himself to those whom he has fellowshipped with
Christianity is very much a lifestyle of "one another". In essence we do not practice our faith in isolation
Lk 24:33-39
Matt 28:11-15
John 20:19-21
1) Jesus wants to take away their fears
When we are fearful we shut off, afraid to let anyone in and afraid to let ppl leave us. Our mind is busy imagining "what ifs" and "could be's". But we dont say it out and dare not take action
It is an inborn and fundamental desire to feel safe and secure. Anything that threatens that creates feelings if insecurity. All fear is based on insecurity
1 john 4:18
He doesn't love us from one perspective, but he is able to love us as who we were, who we are and who we will be. In the preaence of Jesus, fear begins to leave us and we begin to experience peace
2) Jesus wants them to be his witnesses
John 20:21-23
3) Jesus wants them to have faith
John 11:16
Jesus wants us to live a faith-filled, victorious life
John 20:31
